Job summary

PropelSys Technologies LLC in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and modernization of complex on-premises and hybrid environments. This role emphasizes 80% on-premises/hybrid infrastructure and 20% AWS serverless components, requiring deep data center expertise and the ability to integrate cloud where it adds value.

You will guide migrations, develop roadmaps, ensure resilience, observability, and alignment with security and business goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure architecture for on-premises/hybrid environments.
• Deep knowledge of compute, storage, virtualization, network, and VDI.
• Experience migrating large infrastructure and data centers.
• Ability to translate architecture into business risk, cost and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve infrastructure across compute, storage, virtualization, network, VDI, resilience/DR, observability.
• Assess current on-premises/hybrid environments and identify modernization opportunities.
• Lead migrations including data center consolidations and phased transitions to hybrid/cloud.
• Develop roadmaps and modernization strategies balancing legacy constraints with cloud value.
• Define target state architecture that uses cloud where valuable, not by default.
• Design and support AWS serverless components within the hybrid architecture.
• Establish standards for resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Build observability and instrumentation across the infrastructure stack.
• Collaborate with security, network, and platform teams to meet requirements.
• Translate decisions for senior leadership in business terms.
• Influence internal teams and external providers around a common strategy.
• Document decisions, standards, and reference designs for reuse.
