Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking an Information Security Advisor – Detection Engineer to spearhead strategic network security, access control, and secure messaging solutions. You will design, test, and implement detections, coordinate incident responses, and support deployment of security technologies across complex environments.

The role emphasizes CI/CD for detection content, collaboration with CSOC and Engineering, and ongoing improvement of monitoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Requires BS/BA degree in Information Technology or related field and a minimum of 5 years experience in systems support, system administration, system engineering, system security, access management, network security, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, and/or data; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Requires experience in planning and designing highly complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains enterprise information security policies, technical standards, guidelines, procedures, and other elements of an infrastructure necessary to support information security in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and information security controls.
• Provides first level engineering design functions and trouble resolution; acts as escalation point on complex problems; leads or plans implementations for access management and network security technologies.
• Develops testing plans to ensure quality of implementation; leads investigation and reporting of data security events and incidents; provides system and network architecture support for information and network security technologies.
• Develops support procedures and performance metrics; leads level 1 & 2 incident recoveries; may organize efforts of other analysts as part of incident recovery; leads root cause analysis efforts.
• Must be capable of providing top-tier support for 4+ information security technology skill sets: Access Control, Application Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Cryptography, Information Security and Risk Management, Compliance and Investigations, Operations Security, Physical Security, Security Architecture and Design, Telecommunications and Network Security.
