Job summary

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is seeking a Senior Specialist, HRIS in Chicago on a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two remote). You will lead the development, administration, and optimization of HR information systems, with emphasis on Workday and related tools, to improve data integrity, reporting, and user experience for HR, payroll, and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years HRIS experience (Workday) and strong project management, Excel, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HRIS systems experience, particularly Workday, including implementation, customization, and integration.
• Strong understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes.
• Knowledge of eligibility rules, enrollment rules and benefit procedures.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of data.
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, operate, and optimize the primary HRIS (Workday) and UKG.
• Identify workflow improvements in HR and oversee system implementations.
• Provide system training and create training materials.
• Manage upgrades, configurations, reports, and integrations.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with internal/external resources.
• Serve as liaison between HR, Payroll, IT, and stakeholders.
• Create and deliver custom reports and dashboards.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Keep up with HRIS trends and maintain vendor relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
