Job summary

Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support across East Tennessee locations, including Cleveland, Chattanooga, Manchester, and Cookeville.

This hybrid role requires strong collaboration with leaders and the HR Director to ensure consistent HR practices and a positive employee experience. You will manage employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and lifecycle activities while traveling regularly to assigned sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in HR, Business Admin, or related field.
• Three or more years of HR experience preferred.
• Experience with employee relations, performance management, and coaching.
• Experience in multi-location environments preferred.
• Healthcare/behavioral health or nonprofit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR resource for assigned locations, leaders, and staff.
• Build relationships with leaders and staff through regular communication and onsite presence.
• Promote consistent HR practices and support employee-related matters.
• Provide guidance on performance management, documentation, and accountability.
• Own regular HR reporting and share trends with HR leadership.
• Support onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding; assist HR systems and resources.
