Job summary

Community Action Partnership seeks a Housing Specialist to help people experiencing homelessness secure permanent housing through short- to medium-term assistance. The role emphasizes Housing First principles, trauma-informed, participant-centered approaches, and collaboration with landlords and service providers.

The position involves developing housing-focused service plans, coordinating rental assistance, data entry in HMIS, and ensuring confidentiality and equity in access to housing

Qualifications

• Experience serving individuals or families experiencing homelessness.
• Familiarity with housing programs and landlord engagement.
• Experience supporting survivors of domestic violence or trauma.
• HMIS or comparable databases knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop housing-focused service plans with participants to support rapid placement into permanent housing.
• Identify and secure housing opportunities for participants.
• Coordinate housing applications, lease-up processes, and move-in coordination.
• Coordinate rental assistance and housing-related financial supports per program guidelines.
• Collaborate with Housing Navigator and landlords to facilitate successful housing placement.
• Provide strength-based, participant-centered support focused on housing placement.
• Address barriers related to income, employment, benefits, transportation, or tenancy readiness.
• Promote participant choice, self-determination, and dignity in service delivery.
• Provide trauma-informed and survivor-centered engagement with privacy protections.
