Job summary

Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Housing Specialist to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed case management and referrals to community resources to help clients maintain or stabilize housing.

This is an in-office role with potential to transition to hybrid after training and competency. Requirements include an AA in a related field with two years of experience; a BA is preferred, with options for four years of substitute experience.

Qualifications

• AA degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field is required, with at least two years of relevant work experience.
• BA degree in a related Human Services field preferred, with at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Strongly relevant work experience of at least four years may substitute for the BA degree.
• Solid understanding of homelessness, mental health issues, substance abuse, navigation of housing resources (including eviction prevention), domestic violence, and community resources is preferred.
• Candidates must possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed case management services and referrals to community resources to remove barriers to maintaining or stabilizing housing.
• Complete daily documentation, interpret reports and assessments from providers, and maintain complete and accurate client records.
• This job requires conducting in-person home visits.
• Assist clients in navigating housing resources and eviction prevention.
• Coordinate with other service providers and agencies to support client housing stability.
