Aptive seeks a Credentialing Specialist to support the credentialing process, ensuring healthcare professionals meet required qualifications and credentials for employment or affiliation with a healthcare facility. This Analyst-level, full-time position in Washington, DC offers a hybrid work schedule, with compensation between $50,000 and $60,000 and benefits including

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in credentialing or related field.
• Experience with credentialing/privileging processes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize, expediting credentialing.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
• Proficient English communication (verbal/written).
• Ability to build positive relationships in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in navigating electronic work systems and web research.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/Privacy Act regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging for healthcare workers and contractors in line with regulatory and IHSC requirements.
• Obtain and verify licenses, certifications, education, training and other credentials; perform ongoing status checks.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of credentialing files, in either hard copy or electronic form.
• Lead all credentialing activities from initial to ongoing orientation as needed.
• Prepare credentialing packets and provide guidance to ensure timely completion of processes.
• Conduct background checks using NPDB, OIG/GSA, National Sex Offender Registry, and National Student Clearinghouse as required.
• Maintain current credential files for IHSC staff and ensure evidence of certifications and trainings.
• Update credential files to reflect current statuses, including annual licensure and training.
• Produce monthly and ad hoc reports highlighting missing or expiring credentials and file statuses.
• Document all work to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
• Coordinate with vendor recruiting staff to update status and outcomes of research.
