Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks an adjunct professor to teach undergraduate Health Services courses in a hybrid format, with a consistent classroom presence in Richmond, VA. Candidates should hold a Master’s degree or higher, demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to engage students in a diverse academic setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher
• Prior undergraduate teaching experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage and inspire students in a diverse academic environment
• Ability to commute to the College of Health Professions in Richmond, VA
• Experience with online and hybrid teaching formats (Canvas familiarity)

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in health services
• Develop syllabi, assignments, and exams
• Provide engaging instruction in person or online
• Assess student performance and provide feedback
• Hold office hours for academic support
• Participate in BSHS meetings and maintain communication with faculty
• Stay current with developments in the discipline
