Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a Health Educator to lead countywide health education, prevention, and risk reduction programs. You will build partnerships with community coalitions, contracted providers, and public health staff to advance evidence-based strategies and improve community health outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem-solver with strong presentation, training, and data interpretation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Health Promotion, Health Education, Community, Public Health Education, or other closely related field, plus two years of related experience; OR a combination of related education and experience.
• Must pass background check through fingerprinting and RAP Back program.
• A valid Utah Driver’s License required at hire; must obtain within six months to operate County vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of Health Promotion staff to meet grant contracts.
• Develops, plans, and implements Countywide health education and outreach programs.
• Assesses health education needs and priorities of populations with appropriate tools.
• Monitors program budgets and ensures compliance with grants and contracts.
