Job summary

Marsh is seeking a talented student to join the Health & Benefits Actuarial and Financial Group (AFG) as an analyst intern. The role supports analysts with data analysis, client communications, and cost projections, while developing underwriting and actuarial skills in a fast-paced consulting environment.

This is a hybrid role based in California with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, or Denver requiring in-office presence at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, engineering, or related fields.
• Enrolled student with expected graduation Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher preferred.
• Legal work authorization in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform responsibilities comparable to full-time analysts with support from experienced colleagues.
• Complete comprehensive analysis of health care data using spreadsheet and database management software.
• Assist in the development of client communications, proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Perform basic cost projections using client cost and enrollment data with valuation models.
• Price medical and prescription drug plan designs using proprietary tools.
• Assist in the development of customized pricing through alternate scenario modeling of plan designs, programs, and/or employee contributions.
• Develop basic underwriting and actuarial skills as you build an awareness of health care plan design, cost factors, and numerous industry products, services, and tools.
• Work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic consulting environment with colleagues across all organizational levels.
