The University of Tennessee in Nashville is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the financial and administrative operations of the TCSEPP grant. This role focuses on accurate processing, documentation, and compliance of non-labor financial transactions, with audit readiness in mind.

Based in Nashville with a potential hybrid work arrangement, the position emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and providing staff with clear fiscal guidance to keep processes moving and sponsors

Competenze

• Education: Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
• In lieu of a degree, an additional two years of progressively responsible accounting/administrative experience may be accepted.
• Experience: Two years of progressively responsible accounting and administrative experience.

Mansioni

• Process day-to-day financial transactions with proper approvals and coding.
• Coordinate with staff, vendors, and university offices to fix problems and missing documentation.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready records for sponsor invoicing, monitoring, audits, and closeout.
• Support purchasing and vendor processes and prepare related contract paperwork for review.
• Handle travel and university card activity; review transactions and route for final approval.
• Manage petty cash and gift cards with strong documentation and controls; resolve discrepancies.
• Help staff understand fiscal processes and contribute to onboarding and training materials.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
