Job summary

George Mason University is seeking a Graduate Funding Coordinator within the Graduate Division to manage centrally-administered graduate awards, scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships. This role reports to the Assistant Director for Graduate Operations and Funding and supports 500+ students each term.

Hybrid eligible; you will coordinate awards, contracts, and funding documentation, collaborate with HR and campus partners, and ensure timely processing and compliance with university

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience administering financial support and program funding for students.
• Knowledge of university funding processes and related policies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to customer service for students, staff, faculty, and units.
• Strong attention to detail and process improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Process Graduate Division awards, scholarships, and stipends for 500+ students each semester.
• Maintain records using cloud platforms and Excel with accurate data.
• Respond to inquiries about scholarship payments and funding requirements.
• Assist with administration of funding programs like High Impact Grant and Travel grants.
• Collaborate with campus partners to ensure timely award processing and compliance.
• Prepare and distribute employment and tuition support agreements.
• Support onboarding and annual administration of scholarship programs.
• Compile reports for budget tracking and operations.
