Geospatial Consulting Group International, LLC (geocgi) seeks a Data Scientist to support the U.S. Department of State—Bureau of Diplomatic Security.

The role designs, develops and applies advanced analytics, ML, and AI solutions to meet customer requirements in a hybrid setup with one day in-person weekly at the DOS facilities in Rosslyn, VA. The candidate will develop ML workflows, NLP, computer vision, and graph analytics, and build visualizations using ArcGIS, Power BI, Tableau, etc., to

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 3 years with Master’s; or 2 years with PhD.
• Demonstrated professional experience with machine learning and data science techniques, including model development, evaluation, and deployment.
• Proven experience with big data processing and analytics.
• Experience with graph databases and graph analytics for relationship modeling and entity resolution.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience building and running containerized applications and APIs, including deployment to Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency with data science environments and tools such as Jupyter Lab, VS Code, GitLab and related platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Attention to detail, analytical rigor and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML and data science workflows for structured and unstructured data.
• Perform content extraction and enrichment from diverse data sources (files, databases, APIs, enterprise systems).
• Apply NLP and computer vision for entity recognition, de-duplication, keyword extraction, classification, and similarity analysis.
• Design and implement graph-based data models and analytics; integrate with GIS platforms.
• Leverage cloud-native AI services (Azure) or equivalent platforms.
• Perform big data processing, including ingestion, transformation, feature engineering, and model evaluation at scale.
• Develop data visualizations and analytical products using Esri ArcGIS, Power BI, Tableau.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Python, R, SQL; follow modern development practices.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts and stakeholders to integrate analytics into workflows.
• Produce technical docs, analytical reports and briefings for varied audiences.
