DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level Government Contracts Associate in Washington, DC to handle bid protests, claims, investigations, and due diligence for government contracts. The ideal candidate has 4-5 years of government contracts experience, a JD, and DC admission, with the ability to lead on litigation and diligence tasks.

This role offers a hybrid work model with in-office and remote flexibility and a competitive compensation package reflecting experience in the government contracts practice.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in DC.
• 4-5 years of relevant government contracts experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts and correspondence with strong writing.
• Assist/manage complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution, including trials prep.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and professional service.
• Collaborate with lawyers and staff to develop innovative case strategies.
• Support court hearings, depositions, negotiations and trials as needed.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with evolving laws and precedents.
• Pursue ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and leadership skills.
• Engage in firm programs and pro bono work as part of citizenship.
