Job summary

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks a Global Learning Specialist within the LAS College's Student Academic Affairs Office. The role blends teaching, curriculum development, TA supervision, and course administration for LAS 291/292, LAS 100, LAS 399, the GLP, and Global Classrooms.

The position coordinates program logistics, liaises with campus offices, and supports ISAB and COIL activities. Hybrid work options may be available after on-site training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in humanities, social science, international studies, education, or a related field.
• Two (2) years (24 months) of teaching or instructional experiences in intercultural, international, global education courses or related curricular areas.
• One (1) year (12 months) of demonstrated professional experience coordinating educational curricula, programs, events, or research projects at the undergraduate level.

Responsibilities

• Teaches up to four courses within the Global Learning portfolio each year, as assigned by the home unit.
• Reviews and revises course curriculum to reflect student needs and program goals and supports curriculum development.
• Coaches TAs on course philosophy and pedagogy and supports TAs navigating unfamiliar contexts as relevant to the program.
• Schedules all course sections and manages enrollment, adds, drops, and withdrawals.
• Submits and corrects final grades and generates reports to monitor student progress.
