Job summary

MG+M The Law Firm in California is seeking a Paralegal for our General Liability practice group, supporting multiple complex litigation matters across Irvine, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek, or San Francisco.

Candidates should have 5+ years in General Liability Defense, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Westlaw, PACER, and File & Serve Xpress. We offer a hybrid work environment and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of General Liability Defense litigation experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Westlaw, PACER, and File & Serve Xpress.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
• Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
• Coordinate and communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, expert witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel as directed.
• Conduct legal and factual research, including case law, statutes, and public records searches, and summarize findings for attorney review.
• Prepare and organize case files, exhibits, and trial binders; maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case files.
• Assist with the preparation for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including witness and exhibit logistics.
• Process and track subpoenas, records requests, and third-party discovery.
• Review and analysis of discovery documents including medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case materials.
• Record and submit contemporaneous billable time in accordance with firm policies.
