Job summary

Addgene, based in Watertown, MA, is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to partner with the VP of Finance and department leaders. You will turn financial and operational data into clear insights, build models in NetSuite and Excel, and drive budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in FP&A or related roles, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive FP&A or related analytical experience.
• Proven ability to use NetSuite for reporting and data analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting.
• Proficient in slide-based presentations (Slides/PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual operating budget and re-forecasts with department managers.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management reporting with variance analysis.
• Build/maintain financial models for scenario planning and long-range planning.
• Use NetSuite to extract data, create saved searches, and support month-end close.
• Collaborate with Accounting to ensure chart of accounts supports reporting.
• Analyze revenue/expense/program trends to identify risks/opportunities.
• Prepare materials for the Board and Audit Committee meetings.
• Support grant, program, and capital budgeting reporting for nonprofit environment.
• Improve FP&A processes through automation and better tools.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations for leadership and Board.
• Provide financial information to outside auditors and tax advisors.
