Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for a 6 month contract-to-hire, hybrid in Dallas, TX. You will own problems from discovery through production, partnering with operations, product, implementation, and customers to design scalable solutions across WMS, OMS, TMS, LMS, billing, and ERP integrations.

You will build and maintain end-to-end logistics integrations, including Shopify connections and iPaaS, while expanding the in-house WMS platform and delivering measurable business

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python and Django experience, including Django REST Framework.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design and performance optimization.
• Experience designing distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience building REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth2 integrations, and asynchronous messaging systems.
• Experience working with AWS (EKS, Kubernetes, Lambda, S3).
• Experience with Celery or similar asynchronous processing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations, Product, Customer Success, Implementation, and Engineering to solve complex business problems.
• Own initiatives from discovery through production, including solution design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Translate operational workflows into scalable software solutions.
• Build and maintain end-to-end logistics integrations (WMS, OMS, TMS, LMS).
• Develop and support Shopify integrations and iPaaS connectivity.
• Expand our in-house WMS fulfillment platform.
• Design scalable event-driven systems supporting orders, inventory, billing, and fulfillment automation.
• Develop EDI integrations for wholesale, retail, freight, and omnichannel customers.
• Build ERP integrations for financial synchronization and reporting.
• Enhance billing capabilities including payment processing and rules.
• Develop labor management capabilities including productivity metrics and forecasting.
• Improve inventory visibility with traceability and analytics.
• Design asynchronous processing with Celery and distributed task queues.
• Collaborate to improve CI/CD, observability, and deployment automation.
