Job summary

Stanley Reid & Company seeks a Forward Deployed Data Engineer for a hybrid role near Reston, VA. You will work with government customers to implement SaaS products from setup to configuration and ongoing maintenance, with onsite time about 50%.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Python, AWS cloud (S3, EMR, EKS, IAM, Redshift), SQL tuning, Airflow, and FedRAMP/FISMA controls, plus strong client-facing skills and experience with CI/CD, GitOps, Kubernetes (EKS) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying in Python.
• Experience with AI/ML pipelines and secure deployment of ML models.
• Experience deploying cloud-native architectures on AWS including S3, EMR, EKS, IAM and Redshift.
• Experience with SQL including window functions, CTEs, and large datasets.
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow.
• Experience implementing FedRAMP/FISMA controls.
• Experience in a customer facing role.
• Kubernetes experience, preferably EKS.
• Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience in GitOps and CI/CD - Jenkins, GitLab, CI or similar.

Hybrid Forward Deployed Data Engineer- FS Poly- Up to $260K

Reston, VA

Our client is an enterprise company developing and providing solutions to its customers both commercial and federal. They are committed to fighting financial crime by detecting and investigating illicit activities like fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing through digital asset tracing. They are seeking a Forward Deployed Data Engineer to work directly with government customers to take their SaaS products from initial setup and implementation to configuration and maintenance, and also scale with maturity.

Successful Forward Deployed Data Engineer will have:

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying in Python
• Experience with LLM or AI/ML pipelines and secure deployment of ML models in production
• Experience deploying cloud-native architectures on AWS to include S3, EMR, EKS, IAM and Redshift
• Experience with SQL to include optimizing queries with window functions, CTEs, and large datasets
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow
• Experience implementing FedRAMP/FISMA controls
• Experience in a customer facing role
• Kubernetes experience, preferably EKS
• Proficient with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience in GitOps and CI/CD - Jenkins, GitLab, CI or similar

You will be a member of a very fast paced hybrid remote team. The estimated amount of onsite time is 50% and candidates must live within one hour of the DC, metro area. This role requires an active TS/SCI + FS Poly level government clearance.
