Job summary

The Department of Forestry at Michigan State University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term, non-tenure track Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) or Instructor (M.S.) position focused on teaching and advising in the Hybrid-Online M.S. in Forestry, with a 90% teaching and 10% service assignment.

Start date anticipated early spring 2027. Initial duties include teaching about seven courses yearly (online and in person), advising Hybrid M.S.

• Evidence of outstanding teaching across diverse formats (field and online).
• Strong commitment to student success in both online and in-person settings.
• Experience with curriculum development and advising in forestry programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach approximately seven courses per year in the Hybrid MS program.
• Advise students in the Hybrid MS in Forestry.
• Develop and/or teach additional forestry courses as needed by the department.
• Co-teach Professional Forestry Field Techniques (FOR 810) and contribute to program outcomes.
