Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Forest Restoration Project Coordinator in New Mexico. You will develop and manage forest restoration projects across priority landscapes, handling contracts under the NM Forest Strategy Director, and communicating with partners and funders.

Hybrid/remote role based in Santa Fe, NM (1 day in office). Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years in natural resource management, plus a valid driver’s license. Salary range reflects USA pay guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in natural resource management or similar field.
• Relationship-building experience with partners, landowners, and contractors.
• Experience completing tasks independently to meet timelines.
• Proficient English written and spoken communication.
• Experience using common software applications (Word, Excel, browsers).
• Demonstrated experience with project and/or contract management in conservation/restoration.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide project and contract support, including contract development, monitoring, and reporting.
• Serve as internal point of contact for project landowners and contractors, including contract foresters.
• Talk about restoration project activities in public forums and with partners, landowners, and contractors.
• Ensure the program meets internal policies and external requirements.
• Work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and context.
• Assist with forest restoration project planning, fundraising, and internal communications as needed.
