Job summary

TreePeople is seeking a Conservation Coordinator to support forest health programs in Southern California, coordinating restoration and reforestation efforts in local mountains and wildlands. You will manage events, assist with data entry, and work with volunteers while communicating with partners to meet project needs.

Qualifications include 2 years in conservation, ability for full-day physical labor, Spanish fluency, and a valid CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of conservation work experience.
  • Ability to do physical labor for a full day, including loading/unloading heavy tools.
  • Residency near local mountains in Southern California.
  • Interest in environment and climate resilience of Southern California.
  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
  • Spanish language fluency required.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, manage and facilitate restoration/reforestation, planting and care events.
  • Support program operations with project prep, event support and follow-up.
  • Weekly data entry using G-suite and new data entry software as needed.
  • Assist volunteers and provide supervisor training during restoration projects.
  • Liaise with TreePeople's partners (e.g., USFS, NPS) to identify, implement and track projects.
  • Maintain program trucks, tools and equipment.
