We’re Looking For You

What would it take to help bring New Mexico's forests and watersheds back to health, with landowners, contractors, and communities all pulling in the same direction? We're looking for someone who builds trust naturally and enjoys finding common ground among people with different perspectives. We'd love to meet someone who takes pride in follow‑through, keeps calm when plans change, and gets energy from seeing on-the-ground progress. Most of all, we're looking for someone who cares about the land and respects the rural communities who live and work on it.

This is a hybrid/remote role based in Santa Fe, New Mexico (1 day/week required in the office).

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, e.g., government officials, contractors, and landowners.
  • Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
  • Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English.
  • Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, and web browsers.
  • Demonstrated experience with project and/or contract management, ideally for natural resource conservation and restoration.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' experience in natural resource management, similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability and willingness to apply science to decision‑making and guide project activities.
  • Knowledge of ecological land management principles, especially relating to forest resources and watershed health.
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in the conservation and restoration of forests and watersheds in the Western United States.
  • Experience with public speaking, community relations, or related experience and/or training.
  • Multi‑lingual skills and multi‑cultural or cross‑cultural experience appreciated.
  • Familiar with rural community context, ideally, in New Mexico.
