Placements24 is seeking a strategic Distribution Network Planner to optimize the distribution network for an FMCG client. The role requires hybrid work with on-site presence and travel within the Eastern Cape region, including East London.

You will analyze and improve delivery efficiency, costs, and reliability using data-driven methods and ERP tools. The ideal candidate has a background in supply chain planning, logistics, or network optimization, with strong analytical and collaboration skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics, IE, BA or related field.
4–6 years in supply chain planning, logistics or network optimization.
Experience with network design, route optimization, and inventory planning.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling software.
Experience with SAP and Oracle ERP systems.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel to East London, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

Analyze current distribution network operations to identify bottlenecks and cost reductions.
Develop optimized routes and strategies to improve delivery times and cut costs.
Use planning tools to forecast demand and set inventory levels across the network.
Collaborate with logistics partners, transport providers and warehouses for seamless operations.
Evaluate locations for warehouses and distribution centers.
Create contingency plans for supply-chain disruptions.
Monitor KPIs like on-time delivery, costs, and inventory accuracy.
Prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
