Job summary

Eightelevengroup is seeking a Firewall Administrator to support and maintain a large enterprise security environment in the Tampa area. The role requires hands-on firewall deployment, upgrade, and VPN work within a regulated setting and will involve after-hours maintenance windows.

The position is hybrid, with 3+ days onsite per week, and emphasizes collaboration across network, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure connectivity and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on firewall deployment, upgrade and administration.
• Strong VPN creation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience in regulated environments (NERC CIP, SOX or similar).

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise firewall environments.
• Deploy and implement new firewalls and support large-scale firewall upgrade initiatives.
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot firewall rules based on business and security requirements.
• Respond to firewall-related tickets, incidents, and investigations.
• Create, configure, implement, and troubleshoot VPN connections.
• Support multiple firewall upgrade and network security implementation projects.
• Collaborate with network, security, infrastructure, and application teams to troubleshoot connectivity and security issues.
• Participate in planned after-hours implementation and maintenance activities.
• Follow established security, change management, and compliance procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to firewall configurations, VPNs, rules, and network changes.
