Job summary

DLH Corporation is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal programs through NFPA-driven design review, life safety assessments, and system modifications. The role offers a hybrid schedule with on-campus and remote work, and minimal travel, aligning with our NIH-supported initiatives.

You will work on 50+ building projects, ensuring code-compliant fire protection designs and assisting in life safety surveys while contributing to national security objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of general experience in Fire Protection.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Veterans are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural / engineering designs and fire protection system shop drawings for over 50 buildings.
• Conduct construction inspections and issue final occupancy permits.
• Witness acceptance tests for fire alarm and sprinkler system modifications.
• Evaluate existing building conditions through life safety and hazard analysis surveys.
• Provide technical guidance using various NFPA codes.
