Wiley|Wilson in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with 4+ years of experience to lead the design and analysis of active and passive fire protection systems for federal, municipal, university, and industrial clients. You will work with a senior engineer to prepare narratives, reports, specifications, and complete drawing packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in fire protection engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Apply design experience to fire alarm, fire suppression, and passive fire protection elements using applicable codes and client requirements.
• Produce building and life safety analyses, coordinate systems with other disciplines, and perform hydronic calculations.
• Create design deliverables including reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings using Revit and hydraulic software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on design direction, participate in design reviews, and ensure high quality and innovation.
• Travel to project locations for site information gathering to ensure designs meet real-world conditions.
• Review shop/installation drawings and assist construction administration.
