Job summary

Wiley|Wilson, an employee-owned architecture and engineering firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to lead design and analysis of active and passive fire protection systems for federal, municipal, university, and industrial clients. You will work with a senior engineer on narratives, reports, specifications, and drawings, mentoring junior engineers and traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the fire protection engineering industry.
• A registered professional engineer (P.E.) who has passed the NCEES fire protection exam.
• Eligible to work in the United States and obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply project experience in the design of fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and passive fire protection elements, using building codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Produce building and life safety code analyses, coordinate passive and active systems with other disciplines, and perform fire suppression system calculations.
• Create design deliverables, including reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings using Microsoft Office, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software.
• Work with senior engineers to determine design direction, participate in design reviews, and ensure high standards of quality, innovation, and performance.
• Travel to project locations for site and information gathering to ensure designs meet real-world conditions and client requirements.
• Review fire alarm and fire suppression system shop/installation drawings and participate in construction administration during system installation.
