Job summary

Onbe, a FinTech leader, is seeking a Financial Operations Staff Accountant to ensure the completeness and integrity of financial records. You will reconcile transactions, identify discrepancies, and support the finance team in maintaining accuracy and policy compliance.

The role is hybrid, onsite 2 days/week in the Dallas area, with occasional travel. You’ll collaborate across departments and explore automation to improve reconciliation efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
• Familiarity with general accounting principles and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Great Plains is a plus.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the finance and accounting field.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliations: Perform routine reconciliations of financial records, including bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounts.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and help resolve basic discrepancies in financial data, escalating more complex issues as needed.
• Data Entry & Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in financial transactions and maintain organized records and supporting documentation.
• Reporting Support: Assist in preparing standard financial reports and summaries for internal use.
• Compliance: Follow internal controls and company policies to support compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support day-to-day accounting operations.
• Automation: Explore opportunities for process automation and implement tools or systems to enhance efficiency in reconciliation tasks.
