Job summary

Onbe, a fast-growing FinTech, seeks a Financial Operations Staff Accountant to reconcile financial records, ensure accuracy, and support the finance team in applying accounting standards.

The role is hybrid, onsite 2 days per week in the Chicago, Philadelphia, or Dallas metro areas, with occasional travel. You will handle bank reconciliations, AP/AR, GL, and reporting support while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in accounting/finance.
• 3+ years in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Familiarity with GAAP and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel; Great Plains is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in finance.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliations: bank statements, AP/AR, and GL accounts.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies; escalate as needed.
• Data entry and accuracy with organized records.
• Assist in standard financial reporting and summaries.
• Support compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Collaborate with finance and other departments daily.
• Explore process automation to improve reconciliation efficiency.
