Job summary

Ameritas Agency and Advisor Distribution seeks a Financial Planning Intern to assist the Advanced Planning team in developing comprehensive financial plans in Lincoln, NE. You will work with senior planners, input client data, and help prepare plan outputs, charts, and scenarios.

The internship begins May 2027, with a hybrid schedule combining in-office and remote work. Ideal for finance majors pursuing hands-on experience and licensing toward CFP certification.

Qualifications

• Incoming junior or senior pursuing Finance or related degree.
• Part-time enrollment for the entire duration of the internship.
• Interest in Life & Health licenses, FINRA licenses and CFP certification.
• Commit to a long-term internship (1–2 years), full-time in summer, part-time during school year.
• Strong interest in sales, finance, insurance, and planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, initiative, adaptability, and relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Input client data into planning software to prepare outputs and scenario models.
• Assist in building tailored plans for cash flow, retirement, taxes, and long-term goals.
• Prepare life insurance and annuity illustrations for planning cases.
• Update opportunities in Salesforce and maintain notes and next steps.
• Draft and submit marketing content for compliance review.
• Provide general support to the Advanced Planning team.
