The Financial Analyst at Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority records and reconciles revenue, receivables and fixed assets. The role prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end journal entries for grants, taxes, fares, contracts and investments, and supports audits.

This is a hybrid position in Ann Arbor, MI, offering growth in budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis with opportunities to work with federal and state funding and annual audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations in an accrual-based general ledger.
• Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciling large data sets.
• A record of owning reconciliations end to end, tying every figure to source and catching errors before review.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end journal entries, including accruals, reversals and true-ups, for review and posting.
• Record grant billings and receipts and reconcile grant receivables to funding agency records.
• Record fare, pass and contract revenue and reconcile collections to bank deposits and fare system reports.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts (bank, receivables, investments, fixed assets) to subledgers and outside records.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation, tied to the general ledger and to operating departments' asset lists.
• Prepare recurring reports for federal and state funding agencies and schedules for the annual audit.
• Compile data for annual insurance renewals and premium audits with an outside broker.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis, a part of the role expected to grow.
