Job summary

10,000 Degrees seeks a Financial Aid Advisor who will support FAFSA and CADAA workflows, manage in-person or virtual financial aid spaces, and help students navigate aid opportunities across regions. This role reports to the Director of Financial Aid Impact and requires collaboration with frontline staff to implement core curricula.

The position offers hybrid work combining on-site and remote activities, with a focus on hands-on student support, workshops, and data tracking in Salesforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (education)
• 3+ years of general experience in financial aid, student services, or related higher education field
• Strong working knowledge of FAFSA and CADAA processes
• Familiarity with student loan types, federal/state grants, and aid award letters
• Confident public speaker able to present to small or large groups
• Ability to translate complex financial terms into simple language

Responsibilities

• Direct Student Support: staff financial aid spaces, provide 1:1 assistance, review aid packages for accuracy, ensure deadlines and loan windows are met
• Logistical Field Support: supply updated worksheets and tools to regional teams, collect feedback, attend community events to promote aid efforts
• General Responsibilities: travel regionally to campuses and events, participate in meetings, support fundraising and outreach as needed
• Execute additional duties to support evolving organizational needs
