TransRe in New York, NY is seeking a Financial Accountant to support financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting, and related projects in a small team. This role will assist with quarterly and annual close activities and the preparation of financial statements.

The position is located in our New York City office with a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and strong Excel skills are required, with GAAP knowledge and variance

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
• Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, X-lookups, and other functions for financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Ability to analyze financial information and explain variances or trends clearly.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in a small team environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Assisting with the preparation and review of management's quarterly financial supplement, financial reporting packages submitted to the parent company, and audited standalone company financial statements.
• Assisting with audited pension plan financial statements required for Department of Labor reporting.
• Performing monthly and quarterly overhead expense reviews, including analysis of actual results, close support, and variance explanations.
• Assisting with the preparation, review, and analysis of annual overhead expense budgets.
• Preparing and maintaining financial schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation; reviewing financial results and expense activity to identify trends, variances, or items requiring follow-up.
• Supporting ad hoc financial reporting, expense analysis, budgeting, and management reporting projects.
