Job summary

PenFed Credit Union is hiring a Hybrid Business Analyst in Tysons, Virginia. The role focuses on finance, accounting, and technology, identifying gaps, and redesigning processes.

The Analyst partners with Accounting leadership to improve efficiency and risk controls while delivering member-focused outcomes. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and project execution across multiple accounting initiatives, including reporting and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in consulting, financial services, banking, or credit unions.
• Minimum of one (1) year’s experience implementing finance applications, loan applications and/or ERP systems.
• Demonstrated data analysis skills and the ability to understand the business processes and data.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of project management methodology, processes, tools, scope management, financial tracking, scheduling, and resource management.
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office Excel. Experience in or strong willingness to learn Tableau and SQL is a plus.
• Experience in the development of deliverables and reports and ability to condense highly technical subject matter into clear and effective communications.

Responsibilities

• Support the business goals in the accounting area of producing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
• Support the business goals in the accounting area of creating process improvements, automation, and simplification consisting of cross-functional activities and projects.
• Under direction of Manager or Director in Business Unit Accounting, support the execution of projects to optimize all elements of the accounting organization.
• Proactively engage and collaborate with functional leaders, process owners, system users, and business leadership across the company to ensure requirements are developed, implemented, and validated with stakeholder input.
• Adhere to project plans, track action items, issues, and risks and ensure resolution.
• Provide expert knowledge to change consultants and support the change management elements of the finance transformation.
• Identify opportunities to apply process automation and advanced technology and data management technologies.
• Support the development of Finance/Accounting metrics for management, financial and regulatory reporting.
