Job summary

PenFed Credit Union is seeking an Expense Analyst, FP&A for a hybrid role at our Tysons, Virginia location. You will advise management, translate expense trends into executive narratives, and drive bottom-line improvements through high-impact analyses.

You will forecast expenses, produce monthly and annual plans, and partner with technology and risk management teams to optimize spend. Strong data skills and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is required.
• Master's degree in accounting, Finance, related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in consulting, financial services, banking, or credit unions.
• Strong data analysis skills are required.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
• Knowledge of coding, data visualization and analysis packages is preferred (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Power Query).
• Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
• Intermediate research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to help team articulate expense results to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and forecast expenses to enable senior level management to make effective decisions.
• Produce and present monthly reporting for review with senior level team members of PenFed Business Units.
• Manage relationships with technology and risk management departments, partnering with these organizations to forecast and manage expenses.
• Identify and track risks and opportunities, running scenarios to enable informed decisions.
• Load data into OneStream EPM system and check for accuracy.
• Improve and automate reporting, create and track new reporting, metrics and KPI's.
• Use existing systems and collaborate with stakeholders to improve forecasting and reporting capabilities.
• Maintain and update expense, forecast, and budgeting models.
