Job summary

First Citizens Bank in Charlotte, NC is offering a hybrid summer internship in Risk Analytics focused on CECL for the Commercial portfolio. You will work closely with a dedicated manager and program manager, gaining hands-on exposure to end-to-end CECL processes, data analysis, and quarterly reserve estimation.

Ideal candidates are rising juniors/seniors pursuing finance, accounting, economics, or data analytics, with strong Excel, SQL, Python, and BI tool interests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience.
• Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution during the internship.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the program.

Responsibilities

• Participate in quarterly CECL model execution for the Commercial portfolio and help analyze credit risk.
• Analyze reserve results and support activities contributing to reported earnings.
• Develop reporting and automation using SQL and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI).
• Gain exposure to credit risk modeling via cash flow testing and model execution.
• Present work to senior management committees and team leads.
