Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in New Jersey is seeking a software engineer to design, develop and optimize storage subsystems for HPC and AI workloads, including Lustre and Linux kernel components. This hybrid role expects you to work 2 days per week from a local HPE office.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, contribute to testing plans, review code, mentor junior engineers, and help deliver high-performance storage solutions with robust debugging and performance profiling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically, 4-7 years' experience.
• Strong proficiency in C; knowledge of Python, Bash, or Rust.
• Experience with HPC storage and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with performance profiling and debugging tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Designs enhancements for Lustre and Linux kernel I/O stacks.
• Analyzes design; defines coding and integration tasks.
• Writes and executes testing plans; fixes I/O bottlenecks.
• Collaborates with software engineers to deliver storage solutions.
• Communicates status and progress with management.
• Contributes as a technical leader in storage projects.
• Mentors junior staff.
