Job summary

CFS, a growing professional services organization, is seeking a Field Auditor in Lexington, MA with a hybrid schedule to deliver high-quality audit services and meaningful client exposure.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in audit or related fields, strong accounting knowledge, and excellent communication skills. You will review records, coordinate with clients, and help strengthen internal controls while building relationships and advancing your career with a reputable firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of audit, accounting, compliance, or related experience.
• Public accounting, field audit, workers' compensation premium audit, or insurance audit experience highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel locally to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field audits and examinations at client locations and remotely
• Review financial records, payroll data, operational reports, and supporting documentation
• Prepare audit workpapers, schedules, and detailed findings
• Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies, compliance issues, and areas of risk
• Communicate audit results and recommendations to clients and internal leadership
• Assist with planning, executing, and completing audit engagements
• Evaluate internal controls and recommend process improvements
• Maintain strong client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness
• Ensure engagements are completed accurately and within established timelines
