Job summary

RS&H, located in Norfolk, VA, seeks an experienced, licensed Architect to join the Federal Architecture team in a hybrid role supporting planning, design, and delivery of facilities for federal clients. You will lead complex projects from concept through construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Holds a degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited program or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience, including major projects or multiple mid-size projects with mentoring responsibilities.
• Active architectural license in good standing; knowledge of state/local codes and regulations.
• Proficient in production software and construction document production.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems with timely, innovative solutions.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to interact with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and execution of federal projects.
• Lead architectural design efforts from concept to construction completion.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, and disciplines to develop technical solutions.
• Prepare and support proposals, fee estimates, and pursuits.
• Ensure deliverables meet contract requirements and quality standards.
• Develop architectural designs and documentation for complex projects.
• Serve as technical resource on specialized architectural systems.
• Build relationships with clients and project teams throughout all phases.
• Review junior staff work for accuracy and mentor colleagues.
• Perform quality control reviews, site inspections, and construction phase support.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and supervise direct reports when needed.
