Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Executive Underwriter, Construction Casualty Underwriter to join our Specialties Construction team in Los Angeles. The role may also be based in San Francisco, Gold River, or San Diego, at the hiring manager's discretion.

You will lead complex domestic Construction Casualty accounts, serve as a subject matter expert, and collaborate with brokers to grow a profitable book of business while upholding underwriting guidelines and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related tools.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations.
• Develop and collaborate with LOB on referrals and business needs.
• May mentor lower level staff.
• Build relationships with agents and brokers to support retention and acquisition.
• Support sales culture as a Help Point for distributors and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth.
