Job summary

The National Speleological Society (NSS) is seeking an accomplished Executive Director to lead the organization’s operations and guide its next phase of development. The role requires collaborating with staff, division heads, volunteers, donors, and partners to advance NSS programs and mission.

Qualifications

• Ten years of nonprofit management or equivalent leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and implement Board-approved strategic direction.
• Oversee staff divisions and volunteer leadership to advance NSS programs.
• Strengthen organizational capacity, membership engagement, and fundraising efforts.
• Prepare and manage annual budget, monitor financial performance and reporting.
• Collaborate with Board of Governors and external partners to meet strategic priorities.
