Job summary

Akraya is seeking an engineer to support North American development and localization of hybrid and electric drive units in Ann Arbor, MI. You will focus on motor design and integration, creating and modifying designs, and ensuring seamless integration of electric drive units into vehicles.

The role requires collaboration with global teams and local suppliers to improve product quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience with CAD/CAE software and interpreting engineering drawings is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is expected.
• Experience in automotive hybrid and electric powertrain components is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify hybrid electric motor components and sub-assemblies.
• Develop design specifications including 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical reports.
• Integrate electrified drive units into vehicle designs while prioritizing key attributes.
• Collaborate with international engineering teams and local suppliers on component development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
