Ascentt is seeking a Powertrain Engineer to join our propulsion systems team in Ann Arbor, with a focus on hybrid, BEV, and ICE architectures. You will own system definition, development, calibration, and validation from concept to production.

The role spans mid to senior levels, offering ownership of major subsystems, mentoring, and hands-on work across dyno, HIL, and vehicle-level testing in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, automotive, or aerospace engineering.
• 3–7 years of relevant powertrain or propulsion experience for mid-level; 8+ years for senior with ownership of systems.
• Hands-on experience in hybrid, BEV, ICE, transmissions/driveline, thermal management, torque management, or energy management.

Aufgaben

• Develop and validate powertrain systems across HEV/PHEV, BEV, and ICE applications.
• Define system-level requirements, architectures, and interfaces and cascade to component specs.
• Support development of transmission, driveline, thermal management, torque, and energy management strategies.
• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (MATLAB/Simulink, GT-SUITE, AVL Cruise) to predict performance, efficiency, and durability.
• Plan and execute dyno, HIL, bench, and in-vehicle tests; analyze data and drive root-cause resolution.
• Assist calibration and controls development, including torque arbitration and energy/thermal strategies.
• Collaborate across controls, electrical, battery, vehicle integration, safety, and manufacturing teams.
• Contribute to DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, and technical documentation.
• Interface with suppliers on component selection and issues.
