Job summary

Onni in Chicago is seeking an Estimator / Project Manager to lead bid proposals and oversee projects from estimate to closeout. This hybrid role blends competitive bidding with active project management, requiring strong coordination with union labor and CRCC wage standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined estimating and project management experience in commercial construction.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, MS Project/Procore, and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across preconstruction and active field operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare bid proposals for drywall and carpentry.
• Apply CRCC wage/benefit rates to labor estimates and solicit vendor pricing.
• Transition awarded projects from estimate to execution, including subcontracts and POs.
• Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and manpower with union foremen.
• Coordinate dispatch of union labor through the CRCC hiring hall.
• Track job costs, manage change orders, and prepare monthly billing.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and coordination with GC, architect, and other trades.
• Ensure safety program compliance on active jobsites.
• Maintain estimating and project documentation with historical data.
