Job summary

UNC Institute for the Environment (IE) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuarine Program CCMP 2025–2030. You will perform background research, assist in managing focus teams, and help draft near-term implementation plans under supervision of IE staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field; GIS experience and strong organizational skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent training and experience.
• All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
• Biological, ecological, environmental, natural resource sciences or related experience.
• Ability to convey information accurately during all phases of research.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate focus team logistics and workshops.
• Prepare meeting content and facilitate sessions.
• Conduct background research on CCMP actions.
• Synthesize research into products for meetings and plans.
• Produce maps, literature reviews, and summaries.
• Support supervision of graduate researchers.
