Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. You’ll help answer questions about schedule, budget, risks, forecasting, reporting, and performance, partnering with project managers and teams to support planning and cost management.

The role focuses on developing time-phased cost forecasts, monitoring progress, and preparing routine financial and status reports. Familiarity with Primavera or EcoSys is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; entry-level level of project controls knowledge and basic finance concepts are expected.
• Familiarity with project controls processes such as scheduling, cost control and earned value is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Gathers project progress data from team members and updates schedule, costs and forecasts.
• Develops time-phased cost and resource forecasts and monitors cost variances.
• Prepares routine status and performance reports and documents project changes.
