Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team on projects requiring scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value reporting. You will partner with project managers and teams to monitor progress, costs, and risks to support informed decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and basic knowledge of project management methodologies, Primavera, and EcoSys, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements and/or eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Good teamwork and collaboration in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse staff and vendors.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Primavera).
• Basic knowledge of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for team and client interactions.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; ability to balance multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and updates project progress data for basic complexity projects.
• Develops and maintains integrated schedules and analyzes progress against milestones.
• Generates earned value reports and discusses observations with project management.
• Performs basic financial analyses and documents cost/schedule baseline changes.
• Manages project documentation using standard protocols.
• Performs other duties as required.
