Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team in the United States. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance, working with project managers and teams to ensure schedule and cost alignment.

The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of project management methods, experience with Primavera P6 and EcoSys, and good communication skills to interact with staff and vendors.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Gathers project progress information from project manager and project team members to update and monitor the project of basic complexity.
• Equipped to develop time‑phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as required.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and regulations; monitors schedule progress and resource productivity.
• Under supervision, analyzes and documents planning considerations and milestones for schedules.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports and drafts status reports for cost and schedule
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project docs.
