Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. You will assist in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for projects, working closely with project managers and teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have introductory knowledge of project management, Earned Value, and scheduling tools like Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience.
• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, planning, control and assurance.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management and project performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and gathers project progress information to update schedules and costs.
• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs.
• Produces routine financial reports and analyzes variances, risks and profits/losses.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports and communicates observations to the project manager.
• Documents and assesses impact of project changes on cost/schedule baselines.
